NYFW Review: Ralph Lauren Spring 2016

On the last day of NYFW, I couldn’t pass up on covering one of the most anticipated shows of the week! Take a peak at my AOL review for the Ralph Lauren for Spring 2016 or see it below [^_^]. If you missed my Carolina Herrera review no worries, it’s right here. Enjoy!

Known for redefining American style, the Ralph Lauren collection for Spring 2016 transported its audience to a nautical dream. With a bold twist on ready-to-wear looks, the all-American collection featured familiar combinations of sailor stripes, navy blazers and floor length skirts for quintessential sea-side style. White collared shirts and dresses set the scene with the option to be worn as layering pieces or stand alone items for a head-to-toe boat ready look. Sportier looks were dispersed throughout the show by refashioning a traditional windbreaker jacket and culottes into leather must-have pieces.

Though the line held true to its lifestyle signature, the collection experimented with color-blocked skirts, laser cut gowns and abstract prints reminiscent of Victorian stain glass windows. The unexpected design elements added a youthful interpretation while still remaining anchored in classic silhouettes and outer wear. This collection is sure to be a summer favorite for nautical lovers.
