Forever a thrill-seeker for aspirational looks on a budget, Lisa Barber founded physical canvas in 2010 to offer styling tips on how to mix high and low pieces to build an affordable wardrobe. The Fashion Institute of Technology graduate has leveraged her platform as a creative outlet to highlight trends, DIY projects, product reviews and lifestyle experiences through personal antidotes and travel memoirs. In 2016, Lisa and her husband underwent a major lifestyle change by selling their home and purchased a one-way ticket to New Zealand to embark on a journey around the world. Given their love for travel their goal was to create memorable global experiences.
Named one of the “Top 100 Style Bloggers”, her personal style has been humbly recognized in Lucky, CNBC, Ebony Magazine, Teen Vogue, Fashion Bomb Daily and more. A zealous advocate for education and a mentor, she earned her Master’s Degree in Communication and Media Technology and frequently offers advice to budding fashionistas. Lisa aims to inspire her readers to maximize their wardrobe potential and share her experience in adopting a minimalist lifestyle with a dash of affordable luxury.
In between blog posts, Lisa is candid about her hair wins (and woes), personal reflections on social media and global experiences with her husband on their joint platform Barbers Go Global.
