NYFW Review: Carolina Herrera Spring 2016

As if you couldn’t tell by your Instagram and Twitter feed, NYFW is moving full steam ahead in its fourth day at the tents!  Originally, I didn’t intend to write collection reviews, but when AOL outreached to me of all people, I know right yea ME! *GASPS* to contribute to their Fashion Week Diaries series for up to the minute coverage. Since I have a pretty decent knack for writing as I am led to believe. LOL  I figure, why not join in on the fun! This is going to be like old times when I use to work the tents running behind the scenes like a maniac well before social media. I am dead serious ya’ll, I’m OLD and proud. Here’s the scoop on Carolina Herrera’s collection that I wrote for AOL’s series that you can find here. Enjoy!

With an artistic eye for effortless style, Carolina Herrera’s Spring 2016 collection delivered without fail. Her ability to find inspiration in architecture was proven this season with unexpected textures and barely there layers of chiffon and organza in spring colours that would make Mother Nature blush! A spectrum of pastel and hot pinks stole the show with romantic layers of pleated skirts and peak-a-book cut outs for a playful take on this youthful and airy collection. The details were not overlooked in the accessories and shoes department as soft chord-like material was used to cinch the waist on handful of dresses and on the ankles of each model to adorn their glass sandals. As one of the highly anticipated shows of the season, Carolina Herrera’s line certainly did not disappoint.

Photos of the entire collection can be found here.

What’s your favorite piece from the show?!
