Oh how time flies, my little Targettes…
It’s been three months since Target’s biggest announcement earlier this year, a day before my birthday might I add, why thank you of their latest designer collaboration with Lilly Pulitzer. If you remember, shortly after Target went public with the news, legions of loyal Pulitzer devotees were outraged. Yes, outraged… like carbon copy characters straight out of Mean Girls you-can’t-sit-with-us-in-the-cafeteria mean. The hot button discussion boiled down to nothing more than a sour pulp from the threat of a beloved brand being affordable, accessible and mass-produced for the budget friendly target audience. Pun intended. Chile please. It kinda makes me wonder if the naysayers so happened to, hmmm I dunno, bypass the entire Lilly story behind the brand:
Happy and bright indeed. A review of the look book will tell you that Target certainly kept in line with the design aesthetic of the resort brand, infusing the iconic hand painted water-colour prints and patterns on everything from apparel, kids, home and beauty. Lilly Pulitzer for Target will be available in stores and Target.com on April 19 with most items ranging from $2 – $30. I have my eye on the spring green and white pant jump suit above. Now let’s see if it’s in a store near me {^_^}.
