April Fools Food For You

As much as I love fashion, food certainly comes at a close second- especially when presented as a miniature art form. The sweetest April Fool’s joke was created and executed by my sister Kendra who is quite the chef genius. She created mini master-pieces to replicate side dishes of mash potato and gravy baby, peas and carrots, and a chicken thigh as the main entree. Purely made out of dessert ingredients and candy! Ahhh-mazing!
I almost didn’t want to give away her secret of how she made it, but she willing told me her super secrets to creating this “meal.” This is what she told me: “…I picked these meals because its kind of a joke because its not dinner-its dessert. The original cupcakes were vanilla without any additional flavors. The chicken bone is made out of white chocolate, the peas and carrots are crafted out of green skittles and orange Starburst, and the gravy that is oozing from the mash potatoes is caramel sauce on white frosting. And of course, let’s not forget about the ‘fried chicken’ which was sprinkled with corn flakes for a battered chicken appearance.”
The joke is definitely on me because I’m craving a full course meal but there’s frosting on my invisible finger tips ;D
She also created these cute ‘turkeys’ for Thanksgiving last year…she just keeps out doing herself.
What will she do NEXT?

Now THAT is crafty! For valentine’s day, one of my student workers got me soap…that looked like gummy bears and cookies. If she hadn’t included a disclaimer, I would have eaten. Now THAT would be an interesting April Fool’s joke.
