Burberry to Premiere Runway Collection

Social media has outdone itself again! For those of you who weren’t able to attend New York Fashion Week these last couple of days, you may have discovered that designers have started to stream their fashion shows so that outsiders can get that “front row” seat feeling. It’s great for those who are still in their pj’s who want to see the models walk the runway. I watched Tommy Hilfiger’s show on September 11th and it was perfect for viewing versus waiting for the pictures to be released.
Well Burberry is continuing this trend with a live stream of its show today. The show as aired about an hour ago but can still be seen on their website here. The London-based fashion house has partnered with Twitter to develop what the two companies are calling a “Tweetwalk.” Backstage Twitpics of every look will be taken and shared with the brand’s followers on Twitter. Fortunately for me I was able to watch a few minutes of it before heading off to do something but will catch the rest of it on demand.
I love how I was able to watch the make-up artists do the model’s make up and the prep process of getting ready before the show. I even got a few tricks on how to do a smokey eye just by watching the make up artist!
Don’t you just love technology?
